Brockham Oilwell Site 1, Feltons Farm, Old School Lane, Brockham, Betchworth, Surrey, RH3 7JP

The field discovery well, Brockham-1 (BR-X1) was drilled by BP during 1987 and found oil in the Portland Sandstone.

Production: From May to Sept 1988, the field produced approx. 70-80 barrels of oil per day, from Brockham 1 well (BRX-1). In 1988, a second well was drilled, Brockham 2 (BRX-2), to further appraise the development potential of the oilfield. Production resumed in 2002 and a total of 214,790 barrels of oil have been produced from the field as at end September 2013.

The site has planning permission for oil production until 2036 granted by the Surrey County Planning Authority (CPA) in May 2007 (Ref. MO 06/1294).

From mid-December 2016 till early February 2017, Angus Energy, the current site Operator, had a ‘work-over’ rig on the site to carry out upgrade activities (under the existing planning permission) in preparation for increased production and testing of rock layers that have not been previously produced from.
